Martin J. Siscoe has been in the practice of law for 24 years. He has a great deal of experience in Family Law, Criminal Law, Litigation, and Real Estate.

Two years ago, he was very fortunate to be the only Canadian chosen by well-known American Lawyer Gerry Spence to go to the trial lawyers’ college in Wyoming.

Justice is the only thing that matters when Mr. Siscoe is in battle for his client, whether it is for the custody of a child, guiding his client through a separation or divorce or defending his client who is charged with a crime.

criminal law

Criminal Law in Canada is covered by the Canadian Criminal Code.

Criminal Law covers a whole gambit of illegal activities from murder or treason, to petty crimes, such as shoplifting. Some criminal offences are more common than others.

The trial of some criminal offences may become very complex because of the way the evidence was gathered (i.e. electronic surveillance and search warrants).

family laW

Family Law usually involves the break up of the family unit, which leads to the division of marital assets, custody and access issues involving children, support for children, and alimony payments.

Family law also involves people who are not married but who have lived together in a common law relationship, and have accumulated assets together, and who have children.

litigation

And just what the heck is that? Well let’s take a look. We live in a combative society. No we do not settle most of our problems with fists (some people do) but we use the legal system. Every dispute which has to be resolved by a third Party falls under the category of litigation.

You might be trying to get justice for:

  • an injury caused to you;
  • a dispute with your neighbour; or
  • maybe trying to keep yourself out of jail for allegations of a crime that you are alleged to have committed.
